BACK TO SCHOOLLifestyle
23 January 2019
The long, summer holidays will soon be halcyon days for our young students.
My youngest son is in denial about the day he’s to return to school. According to him this day is still way yonder in the future… the day after Waitangi Day he tells me. February 7 he says with great authority, but I may just have to check the school website for that date! Either way, I know it would be prudent to allocate some time over the next few days to checking whether his uniform fits, and his stationery is purchased.
This preparation is top of mind for many, I imagine, as we get into back-to-school mode, preparing for the toll of the school bell heralding the start of the 2019 academic year. The good news is, much of what may be needed, is close by, thanks to Westgate Lifestyle stores such as Warehouse Stationery, Harvey Norman, and Briscoes, for example. Warehouse Stationery ensures all essentials are covered with a whole section on its website dedicated to school supplies, and another titled back to school. Pencil cases, lunch boxes, book coverings and labels, and all sorts of stationery items, feature.
Technological requirements are also catered for, and there are “fashion stationery” items for those who like to shop in a stylish manner (the pencil case featured is but one example). Shop either online or in-store. I’ve included an example of running shoes available at Rebel Sport too, as by my reckoning, athletics is one of the first sporting fixtures out of the starting blocks in the school year (the ones I have selected to feature are called “rapida”, which sounds like a good omen to me.) And, if your children are lucky enough to have a school pool, you may wish to purchase some new towels.
Drink bottles, back packs and computers can be found at more than one Westgate Lifestyle store and I’ve featured some examples here – there are many more in store. With the new school year comes good intentions and it may be that a new desk and desk lamp will help encourage your young scholar to spend a little more time over the books. Get that shopping out of the way, I say (enjoy the excellent sales across many stores) and then embrace what’s left of the summer holidays. I’m off to do exactly that… and check some dates!
