At Kiwi Property, we want to enable greater accessibility for all. We have partnered with Be. Lab whose vision is for New Zealand to become the most accessible nation in the world. Their guidance, advice and assessments have enabled us to achieve a Platinum accessibility rating at Northlands.

 

By making our places open to all, we create a more welcoming, inclusive atmosphere for visitors and ensure those working in our buildings are well supported to be independent. As far as possible, we aim to remove barriers that make access difficult, ensuring our shopping centres and offices (where applicable) can be enjoyed by everyone

 

To ensure all customers can navigate around the single retail level centre with ease, the main entrances are controlled by automatic doors, aisles are wide with good LED lighting, and escalators and lifts provide good access to the centre that make accessibility to shops and facilities easy.

Carparking

Dedicated mobility carparking is available near all the entrances to Northlands. These carpark spaces are available to vehicles clearly displaying a valid mobility permit.

Carparking off Sisson Drive;
Multi deck provides 6 undercover mobility car parks and 7 parent with pram parks.
On grade by Pak n Save provides 3 mobility car parks and 3 parent with pram parks.

Carpark off Langdons Road;
Multi deck provides 5 undercover mobility car parks.

Carparking off Main North Road;
Entry by Countdown provides 5 mobility car parks and 2 parent with pram parks.
Entry by ANZ Bank provides 3 mobility car parks.
Entry by Farmers provides 12 mobility car parks 4 parent with pram parks.

Customer Service Desk

The customer service desk is located between Vodafone and ANZ Bank. If you need assistance, staff are more than willing to help and provide information that will make your visit more memorable. The customer service desk is open the same core hours as the centre and staff can be contacted on +64 3 352 6535.

Wheelchairs & mobility scooters

Five wheelchairs and one mobility scooter are available for use from the customer service desk for customers while shopping at Northlands. There is no charge to loan a wheelchair or mobility scooter, however customers must provide details from one form of identification.

We recommend booking these prior to you visiting Northlands.

Toilets and Parents rooms

Accessible toilets and parent rooms are available in two separate locations;

One near The Warehouse with one accessible toilet and the other near Langdons Quarter with two assessible toilets. Each location has a parent room.

Guide and Assistance Dogs

Guide and assistance dogs are welcome.

To assist our staff please ensure your dog has their accessible dog registration tag and you have your handler’s registration card available, if required.

Accessible dogs are certified by one of the following organisations:

  • K9 Medical Detection New Zealand
  • Mobility Assistance Dogs Trust

Please note that under current New Zealand law therapy or emotional support animals do not have access rights to be in the centre (Dog Control Act 1996).
