THE FOLK TREND

Fancy channelling your inner bohemian this winter?

Here are a few ways to wear some of this season’s most on-trend pieces.

1. THE BLANKET COAT

Otherwise known as the poncho or cape coat.

The blanket coat is an incredibly versatile piece. Oversized and cosy, this is a great smart-casual alternative to a structured winter coat.

Go for a bold chunky stripe or Aztec pattern and make that the statement over a roll-neck turtleneck and wide-leg denim for a true folk vibe.

2. THE FAUX FUR VEST

Faux fur can divide an audience but it is a great way to add a sense of drama.

Not only will a faux fur vest stand the test of time but it will serve you well into late spring. A dark fur vest will help to soften bold prints.

For a casual outfit, dress the vest down with a slouchy tee, ankle grazers and white converse sneakers.

3. THE MAXI SKIRT

Seldom do we think of wearing a maxi skirt in winter, yet you should try it!

Maxi-skirts are a soft and feminine way to funk up a chunky knit sweater and look equally as good with a turtleneck and denim jacket.

Wear with suede over-the-knee boots for a more bohemian vibe.

4. THE HIGH NECK SWEATER

Oversized knit sweaters with high neck collars are here for winter.

Whether folded over or left undone, a high neck sweater is both comfortable and stylish. While an obvious pairing would be to wear with skinny jeans and ankle boots, a midi length dress looks great with a chunky knit sleeveless sweater worn on top.
