Kiwi Property advises that inspections of its Wellington properties, following earthquake activity earlier today, indicate that damage is minor and non-structural. This is based on verbal advice from structural engineers who have completed inspections for The Majestic Centre, The Aurora Centre and 44 The Terrace in Wellington, and North City Shopping Centre in Porirua.
Re-occupation of these buildings is expected to occur following receipt of formal engineering reports, final building checks and subject to advice from Wellington Civil Defence and Wellington City Council regarding access to the CBD.
The Plaza Shopping Centre in Palmerston North and Northlands Shopping Centre in Christchurch opened for trade, as normal, today.
