SKIN PREP FOR SPRING

Lifestyle

22 August 2016

With those cold and chilly days all but behind us we can turn our attention to spring, then slightly panic at the thought of showing some skin! Thankfully a little bit of pre-planning and skin prep is all that is needed to reveal spring (and summer) worthy skin. But first:

INCREASE YOUR WATER UPTAKE

We get it, you’d rather pick a hot chocolate over a cool glass of water in winter but your skin craves the moisture that h20 provides.

Our tip: Grab a funky water cannister that can easily slide in your purse and go wherever you go.

A HEALTHY SUPPLEMENT

Sometimes we all need a little bit of a boost.

To increase your energy levels and replace some of the nutrients that your body may be lacking in winter try a healthy supplement.

Tip:  Vital Greens is a great supplement to try or for more advice chat to one of our health store team members.

NIX THAT SWEET TOOTH

Curb those sugar cravings to increase your body’s ability to function properly.

Countless studies have documented the effects of too much sugar in our diet, one of which is its ability to suppress the body’s immune system.

Tip: Swap the refined sugar treats for a healthy smoothie instead.

BODY SCRUBS AND EXFOLIATORS

Create the perfect base for a spring tan.

Body scrubs can help to exfoliate away dead skin cells and reveal a refreshed and renewed skin base. Plus, your self-tanner will thank you for it.

Tip: Use a body scrub in combination with a loofah or body glove.

LOCK IN THE MOISTURE

Heating units can dry out the skin and leave us feeling tired and lacklustre.

To restore the moisture that your body loses try using a moisturising body wash when showering before finishing with a hydrating body oil. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water.

Tip: A rosehip face oil at night is a great way to restore balance to dry and combination skin.
