The key to ‘barely-there’ make-up is being made up without looking made up and while it can take only a matter of minutes to perfect, the right products can amplify the look.

PRIME

It can be easy to skip this step, but a good primer makes all the difference to the finished look, not least because it helps the rest of your makeup to glide on smoothly, but you’ll also find that you use less of it as a result.

TINT

A light-weight foundation is next and as there are so many to choose from it really depends on the level of coverage that you’re after. Tinted moisturisers are great for daytime plus they’re easy to apply and many combine moisturiser, SPF and foundation in one.

CONCEAL & BRIGHTEN

Concealer is the all-important go-to for creating a blemish-free complexion but when you also want to have that fresh well-rested look, a skin brightener will be your best friend.

BOLD BROWS

Natural makeup is all about enhancing the little details. Barely-there brows can be instantly transformed and re-shaped with brow powder. Use brow gel to set.

LONG LASHES

A good mascara will elongate your lashes and can make them appear thicker and more full. For the ultimate lash use an eyelash curler beforehand.

HIGHLIGHT

Applying a subtle hint of colour along your cheekbones with blush will help to give your skin a rosy glow, alternatively bronzers are a good all-rounder to highlight or deepen your skin tone.

THE NUDE LIP

Last but not least, the nude lip. Choose a lip balm with a hint of shimmer for daywear and at night switch to a honey beige or blush tone lippy. Finish with a sweep of gloss.
