SHOPPING AT SYLVIA PARK UNDER THE COVID-19 PROTECTION FRAMEWORK

In line with the New Zealand Government’s requirements, Sylvia Park Shopping Centre will operate under Red light to the public at 9am on Monday 24 January 2022.

HOW THE CENTRE WILL OPERATE

Centre Trading Hours

Normal Centre trading hours will continue

  • Saturday – Wednesday: 9:00 am – 7:00 pm
  • Thursday – Friday: 9:00 am – 9:00 pm

Please note that some of our major retailers trade longer hours

VACCINE PASSPORTS

My Vaccine Pass is the official record of a person’s COVID-19 vaccination status for use in New Zealand.

In line with Government guidelines, a Vaccine Pass is not required in order for you to access essential services such as supermarkets, pharmacies or health care. As these services may be located within our centres, entry to the centre is not currently restricted based on customers’ vaccination status. Please note this approach may be revised in the future, based on government guidance or requirements.

However, individual businesses that are required to, will scan the QR code on the My Vaccine Pass with the NZ Pass Verifier app. This app will confirm your vaccination status to the business. Businesses may also ask you to show ID to match it with the pass. Please note, only customers over the age of 12 are required to have a valid My Vaccine Pass.

Businesses cannot accept a purple vaccination card or vaccination confirmation letter as proof of a customer’s vaccination status.

WHAT’S OPEN?

Everyone! Under the Covid-19 Protection Framework, we expect general retail, restaurants and cafes, cinemas and entertainment, close proximity business and gyms to be operating at Sylvia Park.

The way that each retailer will operate will depend on what kind of business they are!

GENERAL RETAIL

Retail is not required to use My Vaccine Passes, but if a business at Sylvia Park opts to require these, then they will sight and/or verify customers’ using the My Vaccine Passes.

RESTAURANTS AND CAFÉS

In the Orange setting, hospitality venues have no limits on the number of people who can be at the venue as long as Vaccine Passes are used,

In the Red setting, restaurants and cafes can have up to 100 customers with 1-metre physical distancing as long as Vaccine Passes are used.

If Vaccine Passes are not used in either Red or Orange then they can offer contactless pickup or delivery only.

FOODCOURT

In the Orange and Red setting food court and The Terrace retailers will be operating. Some seating will be provided within the food court area with a minimum of 1-metre physical distancing. Cleaning staff will not clear a table until the table has been vacated.

Due to government regulations, you must have a valid Vaccine Pass to dine in this area.

Please show your Vaccine Pass to the food retailer when ordering

Takeaway is still available.

Following government guidelines, our team will be undertaking spot checks for vaccine passes

Each food court retailer will display their businesses’ NZ COVID Tracer QR code and you are encouraged to scan.

CINEMAS AND ENTERTAINMENT

In the Orange setting, there are no limits on the number of people per defined space, as long as Vaccine Passes are used.

In the Red setting, cinemas and entertainment limits are either based on 1m distancing or 100 people (whichever is the lesser) per defined space, as long as Vaccine Passes are used.

If Vaccine Passes are not used, services on Cinema premises are limited to gatherings (private groups where attendees are known to each other) and restricted to up to 25 people in a defined space.

CLOSE PROXIMITY BUSINESSES AND GYMS

Close proximity businesses include but are not limited to: barbers, hairdressers, beauty salons, massage therapists, beauticians, and nail salons.

In the Orange setting, there is no limit to how many people can be present at a close proximity business and gym as long as Vaccine Passes are used and public health requirements are in place.

In the Red setting, close proximity businesses and gyms can open as long as Vaccine Passes are used and public health requirements are in place. Capacity limits are in place based on 1metre distancing per defined space.

If Vaccine Passes are not used under the Orange or Red setting then the business will not able to operate.

PLAYSPACES AND REST AREAS

Playspaces and some rest areas are open and customers are asked to maintain 1-metre physical distancing.

YOUR SAFETY AND WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN SHOPPING WITH US:

FACE COVERINGS & QR CODES:

The centre has an NZ COVID Tracer QR Code at all entrances as well as at centre bathrooms and amenities. When entering the centre and specific stores, please ensure you are using the QR code and are wearing a face covering.

If you do not have a face covering, there are some available for you at the customer service desk.

MANAGEMENT OF CUSTOMER NUMBERS:

Under the Red setting, the number of people in the Centre at any one time will be monitored and limited in accordance with the requirements of the New Zealand Government.

For your safety, if the Centre is nearing capacity then entrances may need to be closed and limited people will be able to enter the Centre until numbers reduce.

CUSTOMER WELLBEING:

At Sylvia Park, keeping our shoppers, community and staff safe is our priority.

  • You’ll find some of the things we’re doing to ensure the continued health and wellbeing of all those who shop, work and play at the centre HERE.

  • We will continue to follow Ministry of Health guidelines and we encourage workers and shoppers at Sylvia Park to contact the Ministry of Health’s Healthline 0800 358 5453 for COVID-19 advice and information.

CLEANING:

Cleaners will be on-site at the Centre for cleaning of all common areas and will be undertaking a rigorous hospital-grade cleaning, hygiene and sanitisation regime, with a particular focus on high-touchpoint surfaces such as bathrooms.

QUEUING:

Our stores will need to manage the number of customers within their premises in order to operate under the red setting. Our retailers have created a plan for marking and managing any queues and we will be working alongside them to ensure your safety.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

Signage will be located throughout the Centre reminding you to keep a safe distance from others.

CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK:

Safety precautions will be in place at our customer service desks and staff numbers may be limited to help maintain social distancing.

Mobility equipment is available for hire and will be wiped down between uses. However, prams will not be available for hire.
