POST-VALENTINE'S DAY

Lifestyle

19 February 2019

Just because Valentine’s Day has been and gone, doesn’t mean you have to wait a whole year until you can show some love to your favourite people.

If you’re thinking it’s time to curry a little favour with your loved one, any time is a good time. There are plenty such ideas out there, from the inexpensive but touching, to the elaborate. If you’re not looking to gift right now, it never hurts to have some special gift ideas up your sleeve ready to pull out for special occasions… or even for no special occasion – just to show you care (which is, or course, an excellent way to score brownie points).

My inexpensive suggestions this week include a “Dance all Night” pillowcase from Spotlight, an eye-mask from The Design Store, and drink bottle from Freedom carrying an “all you need is love” message (there’s also the mug option and both these products are for a good cause). I loved discovering the heart-shaped cake cut-outs at Spotlight. Bake your loved one his or her favourite cake – isn’t that a great gift from the heart to the stomach. It may be that you’ve been eying up an expensive item and needing the perfect opportunity to make its purchase. I’ve included here a recliner chair from La-Z-Boy Furniture and an electric bike (aren’t they just all the rage?) from Torpedo7 as examples. The possibilities are endless (snuggly toys, a change towel, a basket that holds the promise of a picnic…) and you don’t have to go far – this is especially handy for those who are last minute shoppers. Go Cupid!
