Writing an annual Mother’s Day blog is one of my favourite assignments. It gives me license to essentially go shopping to identify gifts I would love to receive.

I like to think the four who call me “mum” think this is a hugely helpful shopping guide! It has worked in the past when I have received gifts like diffusers, candles, beautiful linen and crockery … I manage to have an everlasting love for all of those things. Given that Mother’s Day also falls at the time of the year when we are staring winter in the face, it’s an opportune time to consider buying something snuggly for mum.  Let it be noted, my children have also bought me champagne and restaurant vouchers. The later is such a great idea. If it’s the mum of the house who’s on cooking duty most often in your household then a meal voucher offers the chance to not be in the kitchen, to dress up (if desired), and sit down and relax over a meal out – how about a visit to Pan India? Or, it could be a morning tea or lunch stop at either Tank, Hollywood Bakery or St Pierre’s Sushi.  If gifting an experience appeals then don’t forget the possibility of a pamper session at Precious Nails. With those ideas, plus the ones I have featured here, it’s likely that you’ll quickly realise there’s no need to travel beyond Westgate Lifestyle for some excellent Mother’s Day shopping.
