IT'S SALE TIME. BIG TIME!

One of my sons is an especially good op-shopper. He often comes home, proud as punch, with his labelled (most often) clothing purchases – super stoked he has scored a good deal that suits his style and school student budget. He and his shopping success came to mind when I started thinking about writing a blog about the many sales in store.

When you buy something at a great price — don’t you just love it more right from the start? Don’t you feel like a winner?

If you’re not sure whether you have those reactions, now’s a brilliant time to put it to the test with the numerous sales on in the lead up to Labour Weekend.

An awesome outdoor furniture setting

I went looking this week and found many a great deal involving kitchen appliances (including a red beer fridge for under $1,000), bedroom furniture (check out what I consider a scandi-inspired bunk bed for just over $1,000), lap top bags and the list goes on.

Wireless on-ear headphones are trending in my household at present and I found those at a discounted price at Warehouse Stationery. NOOD meanwhile is encouraging out with the old and in with the new with a list of clearance offerings, including the Savanna chair down to less than half price.

The new season spring sales at The Importer include a whole array of outdoor cushions (great timing for summer) priced down to just under $20. If it’s lighting you need then you’re in luck, twofold. At LightingPlus there are spring savings of 20 to 60 percent off everything and selected items at Lighting Direct also carry reduced price tags.

Prices don’t get much hotter than the outdoor furniture I found at a significantly reduced price at Briscoes (was more than $2,500, now less than $1,000). If you’re after home fragrance then now’s a good time to head to Bed Bath & Beyond to check out the candles and diffusers – that would make a nice detour for me on my way to Godfreys to buy a vacuum cleaner.

Meanwhile, Rebel’s clearance rack is brimful with deals on clothing and gear and with a son heading to Otago University next year, I was drawn to the icebreaker neck warmer. Anyways… I think you get the picture. There’s plenty to please all.
