IT'S NOT TOO EARLY FOR SUMMER DREAMING...AND SHOPPING | WESTGATE LIFESTYLELifestyle
13 October 2020
I went shopping today with no real purpose in mind – it was simply about celebrating the pending arrival of summer.
I was keen to see what was in store to help us prepare for that sumptuous season.
It is time, I thought, to think about lovely long evenings, alfresco dining, and having friends around to hang in the back yard.
Perhaps for you, it is timely to think about replacing outdoor furniture, ensuring the kids have sunhats they actually want to keep on their heads, preparing for picnics, freshening up the beach towels, buying some citronella candles to keep mosquitos at bay, or investing in some new sunglasses.
Doesn’t all that sound good! All that speaks to me of days celebrating the outdoors in a country where the outdoors is so worth celebrating. I treasure that.
On my travels around the mall I found plenty to treat the retinas. The outdoor table lamp (comes in black or white) from Lighting Direct is one example and I think I need it.
The stylish lounger from Freedom and the daybed from ifurniture had me thinking “bring on the sun,” while I’ve stored the very smart-looking thermos cooler bag idea in my memory as a possible Christmas gift – it comes in various sizes and I found it in Briscoes.
Of course, shopping trips always get elevated a level if you find something gorgeous to wear as well.
To my delight I found a nice array of kaftans at Bed Bath & Beyond – just perfect for tossing on over togs – they’re a nice gift idea too as you don’t have to worry about whether they will fit. In terms of things to wear, there are also plenty of tempters amongst the exercise clothing racks at Rebel Sport.
I have exercise in mind, as I’m off on a cycling trip over the upcoming long weekend.
I hope your Labour Weekend is a fun one too. If you’re staying home, it could be the perfect time to get your outdoors summer ready.
