GIFT BUYING INSPIRATION | WESTGATE LIFESTYLELifestyle
20 December 2021
Yes, the countdown has begun, but no, it’s not too late to go Christmas shopping. And, it you haven’t quite worked out what to buy those on your gift list, just go looking – chances are you’ll be heartened by what you find. The ideas are many and varied, like beach towels, kaftans and night attire, wireless speakers, candles, diffusers, kayaks, home gym equipment, mugs, blenders, coffee machines, bed linen, watersport equipment, a robotic vacuum cleaner, outdoor furniture, and personal care and beauty items…I could go on, but you get the picture.
My latest venture around the mall started with a trip to NOOD, where I was rather excited to find the planters (pictured) and great tabletop books (one on interiors, one on intrepid campers, another on cocktail making), design-your-own kits (superman mask, superhero cape, for example) and puzzles (whisky lovers, gin lovers, indoor plants). There are plenty of options in that one store alone. My trip ended with a visit to Godfreys as there’s a vacuum cleaner there that continually makes eyes at me – it’s called Dyson. And, you’re right, I wouldn’t normally get excited about a vacuum cleaner, but that one does hold massive appeal. Actually, making Dyson my own may well become my new year’s resolution.
I’ve included the panel from The Importer in my product line-up this week as it’s suitable for an outdoor area. This seems topical as, according to a recent NZME story, Kiwis are spending big bucks on their backyards as demand for swimming pools and outdoor furniture goes “ballistic”. If you’re after outdoor furniture then Westpac Lifestyle offers plenty of options with stores such as Hunter Furniture, ifurniture, Freedom Furniture, NOOD, Harvey Norman, Lifestyle Furniture and The Importer all stocking a number of options. In summer we Kiwis like to make the backyard the best room in the house, so you may wish to furnish it to suit. Why not buy bits and pieces, suitable for the outdoors, as a Christmas gift?
And finally, if you need any encouragement to get shopping at Westgate Lifestyle I can tell you, the sales on offer are phenomenal – they’re like a gift in themselves! (nearly all the items I feature are significantly reduced). Merry Christmas one and all.
