Fatherhood is worth celebrating so let’s go gift buying!

Becoming a parent can be likened to having part of your heart walking around outside your body…forever.

It is a massive love force, given that the love of a parent is unconditional.

Being a dad brings with it many proud pat-on-the-back moments, many rewards, adventures and sheer fun.

But, it is hard slog too. It is a tough and challenging job, especially because, most dads recognize that getting this job right really matters. It is a unique blend of the practical with the emotional and can indeed be considered a manic pursuit – full of emotional highs and lows.

Another thing about fatherhood…it is most certainly worth celebrating. So, let’s do exactly that. In the lead-up to Father’s Day (September 2) let’s take some time to find a gift for our dads – or, ensure our kids have a gift for dad.

The socks idea has long-since been shelved, so why not go the extra mile and find something that’s spot on suitable. It could be a big-ticket item like a super-comfortable chair (maybe a recliner so there’s a footstool, like the one pictured from La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery), or one of those large chairs (as pictured from Hunter Furniture – big enough for Dad and a little one), or a large-screen TV or a unit to put it on (as pictured from Furniture Now).  It could be something to suit the active dad (a Jetts Gym membership?) It may be something that really doesn’t cost very much – I’m including some items here to suit the young shoppers too with not so much in their piggy banks. How about buying a Coffee Club voucher or check out the runner’s drink bottle I found at Torpedo7 for only $5. Bargain!

Happy shopping. Remember you will not just be presenting him with a physical gift, you will also show, by your actions, that he has raised a genuinely nice and caring being. And that’s enough to warm a father’s heart.
