EARTHY-HUED DECOR CHOICES | WESTGATE LIFESTYLE

Lifestyle

29 July 2021

There’s big excitement at my house. After 20 years there’s new paint colour going on the walls. It’s farewell to colours resembling wasabi and karitane yellow, and hello to lots of beautiful white and some dramatic black (it’s actually called Resene bakara grey) and divine dark green feature walls. It truly wasn’t until the new colour started going up that I realised how change was well overdue.

So much of my existing décor touches look perfect (better even) with the new colour scheme but I have been shopping for the odd addition, like the rattan Byron wall light from Lighting Direct, which fits the bill perfectly.

My new colour scheme is a brilliant backdrop to timber and all things earthy-hued (although I do appreciate that black and white are also very welcoming of bright splashes of colour). So, with earthy in mind, I went shopping and found a whole host of delicious things to hang on the walls, place on the floor, to suspend from the ceiling, drape over chairs/end of beds and to sit on.

This new-look interior of mine coincides with my growing yearning for more greenery inside. Watering my plants takes a lot longer these days, except for in the bathroom where a faux number provides consistently good greenery! There are plenty of these imitation plants on offer in various Westgate Lifestyle stores. Also available in a number of stores, are natural-hued baskets, perfect for many purposes such as storing firewood or laundry, or as toy storage. In my house, such baskets are home to plants.

If the likes of tan, beige, olive or forest green, russet, paprika and cream appeal to you as décor colours – and you love rattan, driftwood, leather and wool – then Westgate Lifestyle has plenty to offer.  If you’re more a lover of bright, primary pops of colour, check in again soon as before too long I’ll be blogging about an abundance of products singing the praises of bright colour too.
