There’s probably no point denying it any longer… autumn has arrived.

I totally embrace the changing seasons, and appreciate their differences, it’s just that I so love summer. I’ve been trying to hang on as long as possible.

Yet when autumn rocks along, it does make me yearn for a roadie down South to enjoy the stunning display of changing leaf colour on Otago trees.

And since we can’t make it down this year, I’ve been in the stores enjoying items that celebrate autumnal colour.

It’s a good time too, as many Westgate Lifestyle stores have significant sales on.

It’s not hard to find them – up to 60 percent off storewide at NOOD, Hunter Furniture has a designer clearance sale, The Importer has a 20-70 percent off stocktake sale, Lighting Plus has a container clearance going on that equates to sales of up to 60 percent, and Lifestyle Furniture is advertising hot deals…and the list goes on.

If that’s not enough to entice you, then let me tell you about the gorgeous couches I am discovering these days – couches with colour to glam up your home. I’ve included a mustard couch in my selection, which I found at iLifestyle and there’s a deep purple option too.

My top pick includes the Chester sofa from Lifestyle Furniture in a pinkish/redish tone. With its rolled arms and decorous button tufted pattern it could suit a traditional decor, or add an impressive modern touch to your home. Clever couch.

Right, the sun is shining as I am typing. Off for a swim. Autumn may have arrived, but summer’s taking its time heading out the back door. Happy days.
