A SMALL CHANGE. A NEW ROOM. | WESTGATE LIFESTYLE

Have you ever noticed how even just one new piece of furniture added to your home can powerfully transform a room?

I thought exactly that this week as I went shop visiting with furniture in mind at Westgate Lifestyle.

The Saigon wood coffee table with its industrial look, from iFurniture, has such power! So does the modular bookcase and the colonial cabinet from The Importer. Think of all the different ways those shelves can be dressed!

Pop some leafy green plants on top, or a single vase, and how great would that look?! Westgate Lifestyle has gained a reputation as a furniture shopping mecca – and it’s great to welcome iFurniture and Lifestyle Furniture on board.

The products I am featuring this week are simply items that caught me eye, like the ottoman at NOOD that would add a glorious pop of colour to the decor, as would the Eames-inspired Efron dining chairs from iFurniture.

The houses I’ve visited over the last few years (for the magazine writing component of my working life) often feature traditional wooden tables minus the matching wooden chairs. Instead they have the likes of the featured white or black Efron chairs. They seem to add a contemporary tone to the dining zone. If furniture shopping is on your radar, the many sales would indicate now is a great time to buy.

The tallboy from Lifestyle Furniture, for example, is reduced from $899; the swiggy sofa bed from Lifestyle Furniture is dramatically reduced from $1,598; the aforementioned Saigon coffee table (which I love) was $1000; and the child’s folly chair from NOOD is reduced from $99. Meanwhile, Harvey Norman is celebrating Leap Year with the price offered for the two-seater sofa.

There’s plenty to celebrate all around, I say. Happy shopping!
