Magic Mike Last Dance hits the cinemas just in time for Valentine’s Day. It’s a great date night option if you want to earn some brownie points – although maybe not first date –  the first 20 minutes or so gets pretty full on as Mike (Channing Tatum) shows he’s still got it even if he’s left his stripping days behind him.

Socialite Maxanda Mendoza (Salma Hayek Pinault) makes Mike an offer he can’t refuse – come to London with her for a month to do a secret job and she will pay him $60,000. Given that Mikes lost his shop during the pandemic and is now bartending he takes the offer and so starts the will-they, wont-they romance of Max and Mike

Max wants to take her ex-husbands traditional London theatre and let Mike direct a show there and allow others to feel some of that magic that Mike shared with her.

And that’s when we get to meet a new group on talented, young, limber, shirtless dancers.  These guys can move and there is something for everyone! From a variety of backgrounds and dance styles, Mike puts the new troop through their paces.

As expected, Magic Mikes Last Dance builds towards the big show at the end and Mikes back to steal the show with a sultry dance set in the rain.  But not before his hardworking troop of dancers show us and the theatre audience what they can do – and old school Magic Mike fans will be pleased to see he’s taught the new guys the moves to “Pony” and it makes a brief appearance to.

Overall, a nice easy watch, probably best enjoyed with a group of girlfriends and a glass of rose.
