Fast X had its first screening in NZ over the weekend with Jason Momoa walking the red carpet at Sylvia Park in a fan screening that had Momoa up close and personal with his NZ fans.

For those lucky enough to attend, Momoa popped into the cinema to introduce the movie and talked about how much he loved playing the villain of Fast X, Dante Reyas. And you can tell.

All the usual elements of a Fast and Furious movie are there – cool cars, street racing, amazing car chases, and death-defying stunts but Momoa as Dante adds an extra layer. Dante is the son of Fast Five villain Hernan Reyas and has spent the past 12 years masterminding his revenge on Dom and the crew.

He is a joyful psychopath, hell-bent on destroying the F&F crew because as we know, family is everything to Dom, and everyone he has ever loved or cared for is in the firing line. Dante’s elaborate plan leaves you guessing and in awe of the level of patience, he has shown to orchestrate it.

Momoa clearly has so much fun in this movie, he took the character and delved into Joker-level depths of madness and planning,  and he looked fabulous in scrunchies while he does it!

Vin Diesel and all your favourite F&F crew are back and the cast is full of big names, including bringing back old fan favorites and big locations ….car chases through the streets of Rome kick start the movie and there is no slowing down from there. From Rome, the movie heads to London, Turin, Portugal, Antarctica, and the hometown of the F&F crew LA.

Fast X is the penultimate Fast & Furious movie and leaves you with a shocking ending (make sure you stay for the preview of what’s to come in Fast & Furious 11). Can’t wait to see Momoa back in the next one.
