Jackie is known in the real estate industry as The X Factor.
During her exciting career with Harcourts, she has achieved some very impressive results. In just her first year in the business she finished 19th in the Top 20 in Canterbury.
That same year, she went on to win a handful of very prestigious awards with arguably the most successful franchise, Harcourts Grenadier: their coveted “Rookie of the Year”, 7th place in their top 20, and 3rd place in their Top 5 Auction Listers.
An extraordinary achievement in a Rookie year. Her dedication to her clients ensured she maintained her position, achieving her place in the Canterbury Top 20 again in 2006-2007.
“People often ask me what the key to my success is. I just keep coming back to the same three things – giving the best service, a good work ethic and passion for getting top results. I achieve what I do for my clients’ because I make a personal commitment to do so. When my vendors achieve a great result on the sale of their property, it means I’ve done my job well. And I don’t stop until I’ve delivered on that.”
Jackie understands the importance of being a good listener and following up with each client.
Her high level of honesty, communication and consistency are the cornerstones of her successful philosophy.
“It’s the small details that are often the big issue for clients. It’s not unusual for me to be asked to list a property solely on the basis that I was the only person to follow them up after an open home. Vendors need to trust that you will walk the talk for them.” And even in the most stressful of situations, Jackie maintains a refreshing sense of humour and a healthy positive attitude. By being willing to adopt new ideas and think outside the square, she is a source of both inspiration and support to her clients.
“Ultimately, I simply love what I do. Whether it’s getting a great result for my vendors at auction, finding that perfect home for a buyer or being referred to someone new that needs my help, this can be a very rewarding business. And when my clients’ real estate experience is a positive one, I know they’ll come back and refer their friends and family to me.”
Whilst Jackie admits to working some pretty long hours, she maintains that her naturally high energy levels, passion for life and sense of humour are key in helping her achieve the results she does for her clients. And despite running a highly successful business, she will also finish her last university paper later this year (2008) awarding her the sought-after AREINZ qualification which would allow her to own and operate her own real estate business.
Jackie has also booked her place in New Zealand history where, as a Founding astronaut with Virgin Galactic, she is hoping to become the first Kiwi woman to fly in to space. "The space journey is also a wonderful opportunity to promote my clients' properties off-shore to wealthy individuals and celebrities that they otherwise wouldn't have access to," she says.
