It's been 10 months since I joined the Founder's Club at Virgin and on Monday I fly up to Philidelphia for my first round of space training at the National Aerospace Training & Research Center (Nastar). All the necessary paperwork has been completed and by Wednesday I'll have a clearer picture of what we can expect on the flight, particularly the actual experience of G-forces on the body.
We'll be covering medical certification, academic preparation, G-tolerance prequalification upto 6 G's, simulated space launch up to 4-6 G's and all going well, achieving the Launch Readiness Certificate.
I'm feeling fit, ready and positive - if not slightly apprehensive about the centrifuge training. No doubt, this will sort out the men from the boys!
